Late last year Tourism New Caledonia sent Australian electronic group Crooked Colours to its islands to record everything the country had to offer and turn it into a track that would combine the group’s summery aesthetic with both the country’s musical heritage and the sounds of their experiences on the islands. Dropbox and Future Classic build L.A. recording studio

The file-sharing giant has partnered with Australian-based record label Future Classic to launch a recording studio that will open later this month in Los Angeles with the aim of helping local artists crack the US market, out of which they will run a series of ‘creative incubator’ events and workshops. Part of its ‘Equalizing Music’ global campaign, it’s a nice contribution to the gender equality conversation.
